One more week down…

Friday, September 29th, 2006

Just finished my pediatric week at a private clinic and had a great time! I was actually with a “med-peds” doctor, a specialist that is board-certified in Internal Medicine and pediatrics. They see all ages of patients (just like family medicine docs), but are different from family medicine because they don’t do OB/Gyn or surgery [...]

Now Playing: Week Sixteen

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Whoa! Week sixteen! I could hardly remember which week this was. Guess I’ve been pregnant for a while. Here are the current highlights:
- baby 4-5 inches long
- can make a fist
- eyes becoming sensitive to light
- more developed facial muscles may lead to various expressions (i.e. squinting, frowning)
- may have HICCUPS!
- millions of eggs forming [...]

Happy Birthday Mom!

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Missing my mom today because it is her 60th birthday (go mom!). I’m feeling really sentimental because she’s turning 60 and I’m turning 30…and now I’m going to have this baby while I’m 30. It’s weird and cool when you get to the point where your life starts overlapping your parents’.
I’m so excited to be [...]

Halloween Costume?

Monday, September 25th, 2006

If only I was going to have a big belly by Halloween…
Rats.

What weekend?

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Had to work both days this weekend. Boo. Now it’s Monday. Still working. Still boo.
I am still liking peds though, just wish I could have a 9 to 5 job like some grown-ups do (or at least one that pays me…instead of the other way around). Ah well, it’s coming. Practically right around the corner.
Did [...]

CRYBABIES!

Saturday, September 23rd, 2006

All of you all are crybabies.
Waaaah! I don’t know when the blog is updated! Waaaaah! I don’t know what RSS is!
Waaaah! I’m a big crybaby!
Well, cry no more, friends. We’ve added an e-mail subscription box on the right sidebar. If you look just below the Name Idea box, you’ll find [...]

I heart pediatrics!

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Hey everyone! So for the last few weeks I’ve been on PEDIATRICS, and let me tell you–it’s horrible. I’ve had to hang out with about million cute kids, and Tuesday I even had to play Twister. And last week when I was on call I had to spend the whole time sitting on a couch [...]

Baby’s First Portrait

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Rahul and I went to the state fair and here’s what happened:

Alligator on a stick also happened, but I don’t really want to get into it.
It’s not nearly as good as the story about Rahul eating a mouthful of ants.

Now Playing: Week Fifteen

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Okay, so I skipped weeks 13 and 14. Bad mommy! Highlights from the last two weeks:
- baby moving in a jerky fashion (can’t feel it yet)
- sucking it’s teeny thumb
- starts making meconium
- mouth and eyes totally formed
And now, for your reading pleasure…week fifteen:
Your baby’s skin starts out nearly transparent. Eyebrows and scalp hair may [...]

Woosh-Swoosh-Woosh-Swoosh-Woosh-Swoosh
wooshshwooshwooshshwooshwooshshwoosh

Friday, September 8th, 2006

Huh. I started writing this weeks ago and never posted it…
Well, I guess a re-write is in order.
As a follow-up to Sarah’s post from a way back, I just wanted to write about my experience hearing the heart beat for the first time. When the microphone-speaker-thingy was put up to Sarah’s little belly, it [...]
