The Baby Formerly Known as ‘It’

thebabyformerlyknowasit.gif…is actually still the baby known as ‘it’.

We went in for the ultrasound today, and everything looks as it should. Well, everything we could see looks as it should. Unfortunately, the baby’s feet and umbilical cord were blocking an important part of our view. An important part which means we’re going to have to wait until March to find out the kid’s gender.

Punk kid.

It was really amazing to see what we could, though. The little hands and feet, the beating heart(!), the profile—it’s all the same sort of stuff you’ve probably seen before, but this time it’s ours. And that is amazing and awesome.

We tried to make a video like Jeff and Leah did, but our tech wouldn’t let us. BOO!

We’ll have some ultrasound pictures to post soon—you won’t be able to tell what they are, but they are SO COOL!

IT’S A LITTLE PERSON!

(Interestingly, the doctor who came in to talk to us about the ultrasound said the baby was in a “Frank Breech” position—which is when the baby’s bottom is pointed towards the “maternal pelvic outlet” with the feet near the ears. According to how it was described to us, and what we saw, I think the baby was actually in a “complete breech” position, which is “when the baby’s hips and knees are flexed so that the baby is sitting crosslegged, with feet beside the bottom.” I know that was the position, because I made some joke about the kid sitting Indian style, therefore taking after me.

On the other hand, the baby was very stubborn, and wouldn’t adjust its position, so I guess it takes more after Sarah.)
