Surprised by my belly.

January 28th, 2007 by Sarah

This might sound kind of silly (since the countdown over on the right says baby is coming in just 44 days…), but I actually forget that I have a belly lately.

And I sure DO have a belly! It’s gotten so big that people I don’t know (um, well…everyone actually) can tell that I am pregnant. Or sometimes I try to slide behind a chair and get kinda stuck. And every time, I’m like “whoa! what the..? oh yeah–there’s a BELLY there!” It’s funny. I totally forget that I have this big snoopy nose in the middle where my waistline should be.

I don’t really FEEL that big either. Most of the rest of me seems to be about the same size…I guess it’s just Baby now that is getting bigger and bigger. Very sneaky.

Still doing my OB/gyn rotation. It’s fun, but I’ve been feeling anxious this last week. I think it’s a combo of Rahul being out of town, lots of hours studying for my OB test (and therefore studying all the things that can go wrong…), and the delivery date sneaking up soon. I actually worried for an hour today about whether or not I might have a “Robertsonian 14/21 translocation.” Seriously. Not really what your average pregnant lady worries about. I got over it and made cupcakes.

By the way–Salt’N'Pepa’s “Very Necessary” is FULL of good tracks. Does anyone else remember this album? I’m playing it now. Think I’ll turn it up so Baby can appreciate some fiiiiine 90’s poetry.

We’ll start with “Whatta Man” as a shout out to my Baby Daddy.
