Um….did anyone else notice Baby is coming along in the next few weeks?

Whoa. I know it shouldn’t really be a surprise. I mean, baby has been cooking in there for a while. It just seems so real and close all of a sudden, probably because:
1) it IS (duh)
2) my belly appears ENORMOUS (to me, at least)
3) we have baby things!

Number three, by the way, is mainly thanks to the awesome baby shower our friends threw for us last weekend. A total surprise! I knew my mom was coming to visit, but I didn’t know my sister was coming too (surprise #1!). And what I really didn’t know is that they were coming for a surprise baby shower! Rahul knew. My family knew. My friends knew. Actually…everyone but me knew. I’m a little gullible.

I was totally surprised! And really touched–it was so sweet of my pals to get everyone together, and we got such nice thoughtful gifts. I just can’t get over it. So sweet and sneaky. I totally thought we were just going for a casual dinner. Guess I’m glad I put on a fresh shirt (thanks, sis).

So now we’ve now got some wee little clothes and useful tools for washing and diapering and playing with baby, and even got a crib today (thanks mom!). I guess now it’s just up to Baby, who will come out when she’s ready. I can’t wait to meet her…

Well okay. Maybe I can wait a FEW more weeks. Please please a few more weeks.
